Toyota Silver Streak (1D4) is a popular metallic silver OEM colour, known for its smooth finish and fine metallic effect. It delivers a clean, modern appearance with excellent consistency across panels.

Application system
2-stage system:

• Basecoat (colour)
• Clearcoat (gloss & protection)

Mixing & application

Basecoat:

• Mix 1:1 with thinners only
• Do not add hardener

Clearcoat:

• Mix 2:1 with hardener
• Add 10–20% thinners if needed

Spraying:

• Apply 2–3 coats of basecoat (allow 5–10 minutes between coats)
• Finish with 2 coats of clearcoat for gloss and durability

Surface preparation

• Sand surface (P320–P400 for preparation, P600–P800 for finishing)
• Prime if needed, then sand smooth
• Paint is not direct to metal
• Clean thoroughly before painting

Finishing
After curing, polish using Presta polish to achieve a high-gloss, professional finish.

• Toyota: usually found under the bonnet or on the driver’s door frame
• Volkswagen / Audi: commonly found in the boot near the spare wheel area
• Other vehicles: may be located under the bonnet, door jamb, or service book
