Renault Rouge Flamme (Flame Red) (NNP) is a premium 3-stage pearl red OEM colour, known for its deep, vibrant tone and exceptional colour depth. This colour delivers a rich, high-impact finish with a distinctive pearl effect, widely recognised on modern Renault models in South Africa.

Application system
3-stage pearl system:

• Groundcoat (base layer)
• Midcoat (pearl/effect layer)
• Clearcoat (gloss & protection)

Mixing & application

Groundcoat (base):

• Mix 1:1 with thinners only
• Do not add hardener

Midcoat (pearl layer):

• Mix as per system (typically 1:1 with thinners)
• Apply light, even coats to control colour effect

Clearcoat:

• Mix 2:1 with hardener
• Add 10–20% thinners if needed

Spraying:

• Apply groundcoat until full coverage is achieved
• Apply 1–2 coats of midcoat depending on desired pearl effect
• Finish with 2 coats of clearcoat for depth and durability

Surface preparation

• Sand surface (P320–P400 for preparation, P600–P800 for finishing)
• Prime if needed, then sand smooth
• Paint is not direct to metal
• Clean thoroughly before painting

Finishing
After curing, polish using Presta polish to achieve a deep, high-gloss professional finish.

Colour code locations may vary depending on the vehicle manufacturer:

• Renault: usually found on the driver’s door frame or door jamb
• Volkswagen / Audi: commonly found in the boot near the spare wheel area
• Other vehicles: may be located under the bonnet, door jamb, or service book
